A little paint...

I posted some of the things we have done to the house so far. The walls in most of the house went from white to a cream color. The trim went from wood to white. Sadie has a pretty accent wall. The kitchen went from this weird taupe to cream and all the doors went from wood to white. since the pictures we have put in our blinds and painted the kitchen cabinets. we still have to take those pics. The carpet gets installed this week and the appliances are being delivered on Wednesday. I can't wait to see it all finished! We are planning on moving in the last weekend of January. We would do it this coming weekend but Adam will be in Vegas for Bobby's wedding. I will post more house pics soon! Loves

Snow!!

I am finally posting a couple of pictures from our trip to Chicago. Yes, it was about a month ago, but I've been busy! We have been packing and getting everything ready to move. These pictures are actually ones from my phone. I promise you, we do have more pictures, I just haven't had time to post them. But here we are, in the snow! I also have Christmas pictures to post, but...

We finally closed on the house on Dec. 29th and had started to go over there to paint and do the (seemingly) few things we needed and wanted to do before moving in. Well...after about 1 day of painting in Sadie's new room with her all over the place and all the prep work you have to do. We looked around at the rest of the house needing to be painted and decided to "phone it in". Some of you may be thinking we took the easy way out but let me say that I am VERY happy we chose to do that. Adam and I work full time and we are only together 1 full day a week. In addition, we have a 2 1/2 year old. Not a good combo with painting a house. Luckily we found someone that was willing to do it for us for a small compensation and it looks great. Adam ripped up the carpet and the new carpet will be put in next week. We initially were going to put down laminate floors but, again, we do not have time (or skill) to do this. We decided that this is our 5 year house and carpet will be fine. So, all we have left to do (the painting is done) is hang the new fans and light fixtures, hang the blinds and paint the kitchen cabinets. All of that will be done this weekend (God willing). I am so excited I feel like I am going to burst. Adam and I are taking lots of pictures so we can post them later. Sadie is doing really well and is starting to sound more like a big girl everyday. She has a hilarious personality and is so fun to be around. We got her a tricycle for Christmas and she likes riding it and taking her "babies" with her. I keep asking her if she is excited about her new room and scrunches up her face and screams "EXCITED" really loud. When we were leaving the house the other night, we were in the car and driving away and she said "bye bye new house, bye bye new room". I'm hoping that once all our stuff is there and her room is set up, she will be happy and comfortable. My plan is to do her room and the kitchen first and everything else after that. It's really important to have her room ready for her. Anyhow, I'll try and post pics of past and present Shugan happenings. haha. Loves

Our House

So we are officially homeowners!!! We closed today on our house and couldn't be happier. I absolutely can not wait to paint and get moved in! Hopefully we will have some wonderful volunteers to help us paint the house (inside of course) and get all the things in order we need to to be able to move in. We would like to be in by the end of January but with the way our weekends seem to be looking this coming month, I'm not sure if we can make that happen. Everyone keep your fingers crossed. Just wanted to post this picture and say that I am feeling so very happy and blessed today and am so excited for Adam, Sadie and I to begin this new chapter.

Hanukkah pictures...finally! :)

Here are some of the pics from Hanukkah with the Shugans! These are pics from Carolina's phone (thank you), so for now, these will have to do! Sadie had a great time and was spoiled by all her uncles, aunt Carolina and of course Bubbe and Grandpa. We went to Chicago this past week and I will post a couple of the pics I have from that but there will be more to follow. It's funny to think that at Hanukkah last year Sadie took her first real steps! Now she is only a couple of weeks away from being 2 and a half!!

In other news...the contract we had on the short sale house fell through. We were really bummed because we were so excited for us to have our own place. So, we took a step back and tried to think about what we wanted to do. We found out the week before we went to Chicago so we decided we would just do nothing until we got back. I was still looking around to see what I could find and we really weren't happy with anything we say in the range we were looking. We had initially only looked at single family homes. I decided that I would see if there were any available units in a couple of the condo communities that we would be happy living in. There are only 2-3. So we found a couple of "semi detached" homes that do not share any living walls, only garage walls and decided to look at one. We really liked it but wanted to think about it because it was not what we had originally planned for. We went to Chicago and continued to talk about it and decided it was the right thing for us to try. So, the day we got back (this past Wednesday) we made an offer and yesterday we found out they accepted it! The only catch is that we have to close in 2 weeks!!!! So, the next step is the inspection, which will be Monday. If everything goes okay with that, we will be closing the following week! Luckily, we have our apartment until the end of February. So, we can go in the new place and paint and do the floors and all that stuff. Plus, we will have time to move and not have to rush it all in 1 weekend. Anyhow, we're really excited and hope it all pans out okay. I will take pics of that too! I will post Chicago pics soon! Loves

Silly bubble girl

Just had to post some of these ADORABLE pics of the Sademeister. She is the cutest kid on earth (no bias here). Everyday I am so thankful and happy that we have been so blessed with this awesome child. Everyday she amazes me with her smarts and abilities. I am blown away by how much I love her.

Thankful

We had a fantastic Thanksgiving this year. Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures from Adam's parents' house. These are from Thanksgiving at my Dad and Carrie's. It was so great to see my family, my cousins and 2 of my sisters, nieces and nephews. We had a great time eating and drinking. The kids had a great time playing together. My cousin Julia has a son, Mowgli, 2 months older than Sadie, They had fun coloring with crayons and chalk. Food was delicious. We had an awesome time at Adam's parents' house also. His Mom made the BEST brisket and I made pecan pie (I made mashed potatoes for my Dad's family). Sadie seemed to enjoy herself and everyone else. I had to work on Friday but Sunday Adam, Sadie and I went down to Ocala and saw Mama and Papa. We had a great time with them too. Hanukkah starts on Wednesday night and we will be celebrating with Adam's family on Sunday. I look forward to that too! Other than Thanksgiving nothing much is new. I was hoping to have some big, exciting news by now but...

We put an offer in on a house back in October. It is a short sale. So, we put the offer in and the seller agreed to the price. The price got sent to the bank and the bank ordered an appraisal (standard procedure). So the appraisal is done and it comes back QUITE A BIT higher than the house is really worth. The comps that the bank used aren't even in a comparable community. So...our realtor has requested an appraisal review since it was so out of range of what the house is actually worth. Now, we are waiting to find out if they will even do the review. Everyday he says "we should know something with in 24 hours." This has been going on for over a week now. So, maybe I will have some big exciting news. Or, maybe not. But, I am thankful (in the spirit of the season) that we have a nice apartment and we are happy, albeit frustrated, but happy. I know there is some sort of plan. I know that I can't rush it, I know that I have to just be patient and wait...

P.S. Yes, that is me climbing the tree in my Dad's front yard and NO, I will never grow up. What's life without spinning around until you want to puke and climbing up trees? Loves

Too Cute!!

Okay. So, I finally was able (and had time) to get some pics uploaded. These are just some cute, random pics that have been taken over the last couple of weeks. Sadie is getting so big and VERY silly! Right now, she is sick (boo). We all have colds from this crazy weather. Adam and Sadie have had it the worst. Today I actually left work and picked Sadie up so she could be home. Hopefully tomorrow we will have a full day at daycare. She was so sweet today. She wanted lots of cuddles and I was happy to give them to her. I made some fresh, homemade chicken soup for all of us. It was delicious and we have left overs! We have all been busy with work and normal life stuff. There's also something exciting in the works for us, but more on that later! We have been handling some business with that, which has kept us pretty busy. Other than our colds, we are all doing well. Adam has been VERY busy at work, with the upcoming holidays. I actually have been pretty busy too, which is fantastic for this time of year. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving next week (can't believe that!). Hopefully it will be another good (and delicious) one. Hope everyone out there is doing well. I will try to post more pics later this week. I'll do my best! :) Loves.

Technology...grrrr *scowling*

So...last night I tried about 6 times to post new pics. Something was either wrong with blogger or our computer (hopefully blogger!). I will try again this evening and see how we go. Sorry for all you lovely blog followers out there. Hopefully your wonderful patience will pay off!

Beautiful Family

Aren't we so adorable!

This picture is from Papa's induction ceremony. This is such a fantastic picture of everyone (except DK, he wasn't able to be there). I can't believe Sadie is even looking at the camera and smiling! I have some pics from Sea World that I plan to post at some point today. Enjoy our nice family!
