Well, Sadie's having more troubles with her tummy/pelvis... I got her in to see the pediatrician on Thursday, the lump on her pelvis had gone back down. The P.A. gave her quick exam and said she couldn't feel anything. She then brought the doctor in and he said he couldn't either but if the lump popped up again to take a picture and bring it in. I didn't really feel better about the situation, but the doctor made is seem like it wasn't a big deal. So later that day Sadie is pretty fussy again so I gave her some tylenol (the doc said to for any discomfort) and she settles down and went to sleep. Friday morning (about 7:30 am) we were changing her diaper and the lump was there again and bigger. We took a pic of it and when the doc's office opened we went over there to show the pic. Th P.A. looked at the pic (didn't do an exam) and said she would have us referred to a peds surgeon. She gave us no other instruction. Again, as the day wore on Sadie became more and more fussy and seemingly uncomfortable. I ended up calling my mom for advice and when she got off work she came over and called the peds surgeon on call to see if we should do anything besides wait. The surgeon was very surprised an exam wasn't done and that the P.A. and doc treated the situation so non-aggressively. She told us that inguinal hernias can be very dangerous and said that we should get her examined at the peds after hours clinic to make sure that if it is a hernia, it's not strangulated (she also suggested we get a new pediatrician), which would mean blood flow was being cut off to part of her intestines. Mom and I took her to the peds after hours clinic (poor Adam was at work during all this). She was finally seen by Dr. Fortunato who thoroughly examined her and said it was indeed a hernia, it is not strangulated but we need to get her to a peds surgeon ASAP. I told her our peds office was supposed to make the appointment ans she told me if I hadn't head anything by this Tuesday or if they couldn't get us in this week to call her office and she would make sure Sadie is seen Thursday (the only surgery clinic day). So now we just wait. In the meantime if the hernia comes out and we can't work it back in (Dr. Fortunato showed me how to do it) we need to get her to the E.R. ASAP. For now, though, Sadie is calm and being as cute as always. We're just trying to take it easy so she can't rest and not get too worked up (it makes the hernia pop out more). Sadie and I got a visit from our friends Sara and Renee (my Legacy beauties) this evening and Mama and Papa are coming up for a visit tomorrow, so they can see Sadie before they leave for Europe for 3 weeks! Anyhow I'll keep everyone posted. I have to say though, I am really grateful that this will be an easy thing to fix and she's good and healthy otherwise. We are truly blessed. loves to all ya'll

Bath time!
Sunday was a good day. Sadie got a visit from her Mama and Papa (which included lots of kisses and cuddles!). Later she got a visit from her Gigi and her Granddaddy (more kisses and cuddles). She got pretty fussy in the evening so we went for a nice walk, which seemed to calm her down, then Sadie got a bath! She loves getting a bath until it's time to get out. When I was putting lotion on her and getting her ready for bed, after her bath, I noticed a lump on the other side of her pelvis. I palpated it and it eels like the hernia on the right side. I was able to reduce it (push it back in) but that means she has 2 hernias and not just one. I had read on a few websites, though, that that occasionally happens. A child will have one hernia fixed on one side, then a little while later another one on the other side pops up, so, I'm glad we saw it now and they can be fixed at the same time. Anyhow, I have a doctors appointment tomorrow (yuck!) and then Sadie is supposed to have hers Thursday, but I will talk to her pediatrician tomorrow. Hope everyone has a happy and safe labor day! Yay! It's Gigi
Sadie has had an interesting last day and a half. Last evening Gigi (my mom) came over to visit, we went and ate dinner and Sadie got to have some good Gigi cuddle time. Later in the evening Sadie started getting really fussy again, I just figured it was gassiness (she is a very gassy baby). She didn't have a fever and it didn't seem like anything was wrong, just fussiness. She got a good amount of sleep last night and woke up this morning in a pretty good mood. We went out about 9:30am for our walk. It was pretty hot/humid outside so we didn't stay out long. When we got back inside Sadie nursed, then started getting fussy again. After that she pretty much spent the rest of the day eating and crying. She finally took a short nap about 3:30 (the pic) then woke up. Adam went in and changed her diaper and noticed a lump in her right pelvic area that is firm and raised up when she cried. I called her pediatrician and they will try to work her in tomorrow. I spoke with one of the P.A.'s (physician's assistant) and she said it could be a hernia or a swollen lymph node. She's eating good and going to the bathroom so the P.A. said it could wait until tomorrow and that I could give her children's tylenol. So, it's 7:30pm now and she's calmed down a bit (Adam is playing with her). Tomorrow we will go to the pediatrician and find out what's going on. The P.A. was reassuring, telling me that since she was eating good and pooping that she should be fine. I'll update everyone tomorrow. Going to go give her a bath and a nice baby massage! Loves to all ya'll.

Happy birthday Bubbe!
Here somes the sun.
Yay! This morning, Sadie and I finally got to go play outside. We went to a really nice, shady, grassy area next to our apartment and sat on a blanket and played. She really enjoyed feeling the breeze, seeing all the neat stuff outside. I brought a couple of her rattles and a small mirror out with us and she really enjoyed looking at herself in the mirror. After about 30 minutes it got a little too humid and warm, Sadie started getting fussy so we went inside and she got some yummy milk in her tummy! After the success of her first top not last night I decided to try two...it looked SO cute. Her hair is still really thin so the velcro clips don't stay in as well with two top nots, but it still looked cute. When Adam came home this evening Sadie had been fussing for most of the afternoon, so we decided to go out for another walk. She finally fell asleep and we went back to our apartment so I could start dinner but right as it was ready she woke up and has been VERY fussy. I hate when I see her like that; She gets all red and she makes this sad face and a horrible scratchy shrieking cry. I tried different things to calm her but she just kept screaming. Finally I put her in her crib all swaddled and cranked her mobile up and gave her a paci. I ran and ate dinner really quick (she's still screaming the entire time). After I at we decided to try and give her a bath, because she likes the water and it may help her calm down. It helped for a short bit, but as soon as we got her out and started dressing her she started crying again. It's been about 30 minutes and she has finally fallen asleep. I hope that she is feeling okay. All of us have fussy days, that's okay, I just hope that she isn't getting sick or anything (she doesn't have a fever). Anyways, we'll see what tonight and tomorrow bring. Hopefully whatever is making her uncomfortable won't be tomorrow, if I have to see her cry like that for too long I'm gonna cry! Loves to all ya'll

Rain rain go away...
Another rainy day in Gainesville, not much to do. We mostly just hung around and played. Late morning the rain eased up a bit and we went to Perkins for brunch and then to Publix for groceries (got some yummy salmon). Other than that things have been pretty mellow today. Adam works until close tonight so it's just the girls! Maybe we'll watch a girly movie and eat some yummies! loves to ya'll

Having fun
So...it's been a while...sorry. We've been busy! Sadie is sleeping less during the day so now we get to play more! With all the rain we've been stuck indoors and haven't been on our daily walk, so I've been introducing Sadie to some of her rattles and other toys.
Last Saturday Sadie got a visit from her Aunt Kiki (my BFF Kristin), Uncle Benny, cousin Ciara and Grandma Julie . She had so much fun with all the attention! Sunday we went to Gigi (my mom) and Granddaddy's (her hubby Tommy) house in Williston and got to see Aunt Laura and Cousin Alexis and also meet new kitty friends Morphius and Little bit! The kitties weren't sure about all the crying!
Well, with all the rain that has been coming down I've also been able to organize our house a little better, which is something I wanted to do before I go back to work. So far I've done mine and Adam's closet and Sadie's closet. Now for the office area! Well, that's all for now. Lot's of loves

Visiting
Today Mama, Papa and Kat came up from Ocala to visit with Sadie and I. We went to lunch at Ruby Tuesday's and had a really nice time. Sadie got lots of kisses and cuddles! We also made an appointment at "the picture people" in the mall to have some pics of Sadie and a family pic done. I am excited (more for the pics of her). Anyhow, tomorrow will be another fun day with mommy and Sadie. Adam has to close so we get to have him for most of the day (yippie). Adam and I were slackers today so we will have to work out extra hard tomorrow! Maybe we'll get to squeeze some fun in there too! Loves to all ya'll

My mommy present...
Just wanted to show ya'll what my sweet hubby bought me. The Vera Bradley pink elephants diaper bag. Sales from it benefit the breast cancer research fund. I had wanted it when I was pregnant but they are kind of expensive...but...they are retiring this pattern so it was 40% off and he surprised me with it! I love my hubby. loves ya'll
Happy baby
Well, as you can see our little sweet pea is growing into such a cute baby. She is starting to like her swing (she used to scream when we put her in it), she stares at the bear mobile when she's in it, then usually takes a nap. She is also starting to sleep through the night a bit better she has slept through 4-5 hour stretches the past two nights! She had been waking up almost every hour from midnight until about 6 in the morning. I had read some different things to try and I think we are starting to figure out what works for her. Adam and I bought a video camera and are going to start making little videos of her. I am so excited, I can't wait to go back and look at them when she gets bigger. We are also (hopefully) going to make an appointment this week with the "picture people" to have a picture of her made to give to family. My mom bought her a beautiful dress and I don't think she'll fit in it for too much longer, so I want to get her picture made in it soon. Anyhow, Adam continues to work hard everyday and is still taking classes (and getting all A's...little smarty pants!). I am so proud of him, he is such a great guy. Well that's all for now, I'll write again soon. Love to ya'll
