Happy 1st Birthday Mowgli!!
Today we went to my cousin Julia's son's (Sadie's 2nd cousin) 1st birthday party. We had a great time. Mowgli was born at 27 weeks and they weren't sure that he would make it. Now he's 1 and thriving! He and Sadie had a ball. I got to see some of my family and an old friend of the family was there with her daughter (who just turned 1 a few weeks ago). After we got home from that Adam's friend Bobby and his girlfriend Liz came over and we hung out for a bit. Sadie was exhausted after her long day so she went down quick! She didn't even fuss much when I was washing her hair. Adam is off Wednesday and I'm pretty sure I will be too, so we may head down to Orlando and go to Sea World. My mom bought us 2 year passes! I haven't been since I was like 4. We'll see how the week. goes. Anyhow, Here are the pics from Mowgli's party. Loves
Today's Kabbalah:
How many times do we have a predicament or a good idea and the only way to make it real for ourselves is to ask other people what they think. While it's important to reach out, it's equally important to trust our gut and go with what we know.Today, follow your own advice.

Wednesday
Not too much to say, just wanted to post some really cute pics of Sadie. They are from this week up to this evening (the ones of her playing with her toy and in the bath). Adam and I have both been working this week. I had Monday off but Adam had to work. I went over to Adam's parents' house for a BBQ (with Sadie, of course). Sadie is doing well. I just put her down. They said she was silly at daycare today (no surprise). I am hoping to get a bike seat for her this weekend so we can ride! We'll see. Loves.
Today's Kabbalah:
Kabbalah reveals that when a person who has avoided spirituality comes before the Creator and is asked why he didn't change, he will take out his bag of excuses: I was too busy trying to survive, I gave to charity, it's not like I ever killed somebody, I didn't know you really existed.God will then tell him, "you have all the excuses, but you did not accomplish anything in this lifetime. Now you must return to the world and do something!"Change something today. It can be the slightest thing like committing to not say a certain negative word or behaving a certain way. Fill your bag with shining examples of effort and personal growth

Alligators are scary!
So, Adam and I were both off today and it wasn't supposed to rain until late today. We decided to go check out the La Chua trail. It goes out on to the prairie and there is an overlook you can go up on. Henry came with us and we started out. It was great...hot and humid but fun. On the way there we saw tons of gators from a fairly safe distance. We get to the look out, hang out for a bit and head back. We get to the end of the trail part and almost up to where it is a board walk and there is HUGE gator sitting in the path. Now, keep in mind I have Sadie strapped to my back. We were probably 20-30 feet from the gator just standing there trying to figure out what to do. He didn't look like he'd be moving for a while and we couldn't just stay there forever. Adam starts to go closer, to go around it and it moves to the side of the trail closer to the water. He stopped for a second and as he was about to start going around it another gator comes walking up on the other side!!! So now we're standing there 20 or so feet from 2 big gators and I'm VERY nervous. All I'm thinking is 'get Sadie out of here safely'. So we standing there discussing what to do (there was a ranger back at the look out about a mile away). Do we go get the ranger, or just wait it out. So about the time we're talking the second gator walks past the first gator and goes in the water. At that point I was talking to my dad and he said (and Adam agreed) that gators can't run far or fast on land so try and go around him quickly and quietly. So we did. We walked right past it. We were about 5 feet away from a 10-15 foot 200+ gator! He just looked at us as we passed. It was so freaky. After all that we made it back to the car safe. The funny part is that there were a bunch of people out there on the trail so I am surprised that the gators came up like that. Yikes! After that we met Adam's mom at Too Jays for lunch. It was so yummy. We ran a couple of errands and have been hanging out. Sadie is in bed now. She was great today. She got a little fussy on the hike but it was super humid and hot and although the sun was in her eyes, she kept pulling her hat off. Once we got in the a/c she was fine. Well, I am tired, no work tomorrow but lots of chores! Hopefully I won't have any gator nightmares!! Loves.
Today's Kabbalah:
All the negative actions and all the positive actions in the world are feathers on a cosmic scale. When we're dealing with such a level of precise measure we can begin to understand the impact we can have on the world. One positive action can tip the scales, as can one negative one. This is something we hear all the time and it's not easy to live because, hey, we just don't see. If we did, then we would all live with consciousness and human dignity.Today, let this thought penetrate your mind: Each and every one of us can make a huge difference. The more we're aware of this, the more we'll believe that the consciousness of every word we say, and everything we do, can and does make a difference in the world.

Thursday pics
My Dad came over on Thursday. He and Carrie are going to the keys for 2 weeks and he hadn't seen Sadie in a couple of weeks so he came by on his way back to Shands to say hi! It worked our perfect. I was off and Sadie and I were just hanging! I would have more pics but the batteries in our camera died and we don't have new ones! I worked today and Adam is at work right now. I am just enjoying some quiet time listening to Dave Matthews Band (I love them). Anyhow. I work tomorrow and Adam closes again. We'll have Sunday together. Maybe it'll be better weather so we can do something fun. Loves.
Today's Kabbalah:
Before we came down to this physical world, we each signed a contract in the endless committing to help a certain number of people. However, most of us forgot our promise and we avoid helping because it's uncomfortable. And yet, it's in those uncomfortable corners of our lives where the most love and Light is brought out of hiding.Shine today. Be there for someone (especially when it's challenging.)

Silly Sa-Sa
Adam took these picks of her and I just wanted to post them because they are so funny. It cracks me up how he had her posted up on the pillow with her bottle. And her funny little faces. Anyhow. What's up with this weather. I'm off tomorrow and was hoping to take Sadie to the park and maybe swimming...that's not going to happen. Oh well. I have some errands I need to run. Loves.
Daily Kabbalah:
Spirituality isn't what comes over us in moments of divine rapture. It's the slow burn of daily practice, being kind to others when we are grumpy, constantly looking for the lesson, thinking of what we can improve, and all those difficult challenges we face every moment.Today, keep taking baby steps towards becoming more tolerant, more communicative, and more generous. Slow and steady wins the race.

Monday
Just wanted to post some cute pics of Sadie. They are from last week, but I like them so...Not much to report. Adam and I both worked today, Sadie went to daycare. She was very funny this evening during dinner. She was not having her squash and corn. She much prefers fruit! Anyhow. I have been getting her to drink from a sippy cup. Also, she will sometimes eat small pieces of cheerios. She likes to make a mess first, then ea them. If you try to put the pieces in her mouth she gags (even if you put it on the tip of her tongue). When she does it, it's okay. She is such a funny kid. Loves.
Today's Kabbalah:
Giving of ourselves is how we connect to God. When we get past the what's-in-it-for-me mindset, we invite clarity, peace, success and joy — and all the Creator's attributes — to flood our being.Today, share with no expectations.

Life's beachy!
So, I haven't posted in a while but I have lots of pics!! One set is from our anniversary and some other cute pics of Sadie. The other set is from our vacation this weekend! We went to the aquarium on our way to the beach. Sadie really enjoyed it. She LOVES fish. We all really enjoyed the beach too. It was great weather. Sadie is getting over her bronchitis and pink eye. We also found out that she had had thrush! I feel so terrible. We do the best we can and sometimes I feel like it's not good enough. he gets sick so easily. Everybody keeps telling me it's because of daycare...but...what do you do? Anyhow, luckily, she is a quick healer. I am pretty much over my small cold. Adam, however, has pink eye and may have strep throat. He is going to the doctor tomorrow to find out about both. He has been using the extra eye drops from Sadie, but his eyes look terrible. Anyhow, more on that later. Back to work tomorrow. Sadie is back to daycare. Enjoy the pics.

Sunny Sunday
This was a fun weekend.
Friday night Adam, Sadie and I went downtown to the first "free Friday concert" of the year (they run every Friday from May to October). It was the 6th street blues band. They're really good. We all had a fun time listening and dancing to music. Saturday I was off so Sadie, my Mom and I went to a quilt show and saw some beautiful quilts, then to Target and Old Navy to look at swim suits. Sadie and I went in the pool later and she seemed to enjoy it. Every time one of the kids was splashing around she would clap and giggle. It was so cute. Adam worked on school and then went to work on Saturday. So, Sunday we ran a couple of errands and then went over to Adam's 'rents house. We had lunch and went swimming. Sadie liked the float her Bubbe bought for her. I did have to sit her backwards in it. She kept leaning forward and planting her face into the inflated turtle! Later she took a nap and we all played "scene it". I won...! After that we came home and played and ate pizza and Adam and I organized his office (it has been kinda thrown together since we moved in). Anyhow, back to work on Monday. Friday is Adam and mine anniversary! Loves.
Today's Kabbalah:
One way to shut up that carping voice in our heads is to practice gratitude.Today, call a friend or your teacher or open your journal and say ten things you are grateful for
