Christmas

So, we had a great Christmas. Spent the morning with my Mom and Tommy. Had a great time hanging out. Left and went to Mama and Papa's house. Got to see Mary and Kat and Nathan (Kat's Boyfriend). Sadie has a great time there too (we all did). Later we went by my Dad's house and saw him, Carrie and Gma and Gpa J. All in all it was a nice, relaxed, family-filled Christmas. I couldn't ask for better. Sadie seemed to enjoy herself everywhere and we all got some really nice things. Sadie had her 18 month check up yesterday.Dr. Rosi said that she is very smart. above her age developmentally and with her fine motor skills, verbal skills, being able to understand you and follow directions. So, that's great! She is in the 5th percentile for her weight (19.5 pounds) 20 percentile for her height (30.75 inches) and 30 percentile for her head. She said she is small but based on our family size and that Sadie is growing, she isn't concerned. She wants to continue to monitor her weight and height to make sure she continues to grow but she said she wasn't concerned. As far as walking, she is a little concerned about that. She is almost 18 months and should be walking, however, Sadie is EXTREMELY double jointed (Rosi almost could turn her legs 180 degrees with no resistance!). She said that's most likely the main reason Sadie is taking so long to walk. She said she is doing the movement of her legs well and everything, she just 1. doesn't want to walk and 2. has a harder time with her flexibility. So, we have to take her back in a month for a re-check for weight and walking. Dr. Rosi said if she's not really making much progress with walking we will take her to a physical therapist for a little help. No big deal. I kind of figured something like that would be coming. But, Dr. Rosi was very impressed with her and that makes me happy. Sadie got the other half of her flu shot and that was it. So, we'll see how she does and take her back in a month. Other than that not much to report. Sadie is as cute as always. Adam is working his butt off and I'm somewhere in the middle! Well, Enjoy the pics! Loves

Festival of Lights

Last night (Sunday) we went to the "festival of lights" in Ocala, at Silver Springs. It was a lot of fun. We went with my Dad, Carrie, Gma and Gpa J, Carrie's Dad and his Gfriend. We went before it got dark, so Sadie got to see some of the animals. She even got to feed a giraffe! She wasn't scared at all. she squealed with excitement when it took the crackers from her. We'll have to go back there again and see more animals and do the boat rides and everything. It was pretty chilly but we made sure to bundle up and bundle up Sadie as well. She was dressed in all fleece plus I had her snuggled in a blanket in her stroller. She kept taking her hands out though and they were like little cubes by the end of the night. Other than that it was a good Sunday. Enjoy the pictures! Loves.

Hanukkah & big news!

I am posting our pics from Hanukkah. They are from the first night and yesterday at Adam's parents' house. Sadie had a great time last night and we all got some very nice gifts!

now...on to the big news...

Last night Sadie took about 5 steps by herself!!!! We were in Adam's old bedroom at his parents' (where all of Sadie's toys and things are). We had her walking back and forth between Adam and I. She did about 5 steps alone. They weren't like falling down steps. They were REAL steps! I am so happy and excited for her. So, hopefully she'll be taking more steps soon...

Santa, baby...

Sadie met Santa today! She wasn't sure about him, but she didn't cry. She actually has on a really cute outfit. There are embroidered flowers and buttons on her shirt and pants, but you can't see them. Anyhow, she was okay with him. We celebrated Hanukkah at Adam's parents' house tonight. Sadie got some very nice gifts (we did too!). I'll try and post those pics tomorrow. I'm sleepy so it's off to bed! Loves.

Oh, Sadie...

Just a few pics from the last few days. Nothing too exciting to report. All 3 of us are fighting colds. Nothing too terrible, just runny/stuffy noses, cough. No fevers, thank goodness! I was off with Sadie today. We ran a few errands, and she took a nice long nap. We colored some "coloring pages" that I printed out from a website. We did a couple of Hanukkah and a couple of Christmas ones. Hers are so adorable. Mostly just scribble, but I'm sure I will keep it forever! Adam is working tonight so I am going to make some sugar cookies for Sadie's class and some peanut butter blossoms for us. I should probably fold some laundry too...blah. Anyhow. Sadie is doing really well. She is standing on her own. She walks all over the house with her little walker thing. She has an appointment on December 29th for her 18 month check up. I hope she's walking by then, although I think it will be more like mid January. She is so smart though. She knows animals and shapes and colors and she talks a lot. Also, she's singing now. She doesn't say actual words but she babbles in a singing way. I'll sing and she'll start singing along. Adam ask her to sing to him and she'll sing and pat his arm like I do to her. It's SO cute. Well, I hope everyone out there is doing well too. Loves.
