Well, Sadie's having more troubles with her tummy/pelvis... I got her in to see the pediatrician on Thursday, the lump on her pelvis had gone back down. The P.A. gave her quick exam and said she couldn't feel anything. She then brought the doctor in and he said he couldn't either but if the lump popped up again to take a picture and bring it in. I didn't really feel better about the situation, but the doctor made is seem like it wasn't a big deal. So later that day Sadie is pretty fussy again so I gave her some tylenol (the doc said to for any discomfort) and she settles down and went to sleep. Friday morning (about 7:30 am) we were changing her diaper and the lump was there again and bigger. We took a pic of it and when the doc's office opened we went over there to show the pic. Th P.A. looked at the pic (didn't do an exam) and said she would have us referred to a peds surgeon. She gave us no other instruction. Again, as the day wore on Sadie became more and more fussy and seemingly uncomfortable. I ended up calling my mom for advice and when she got off work she came over and called the peds surgeon on call to see if we should do anything besides wait. The surgeon was very surprised an exam wasn't done and that the P.A. and doc treated the situation so non-aggressively. She told us that inguinal hernias can be very dangerous and said that we should get her examined at the peds after hours clinic to make sure that if it is a hernia, it's not strangulated (she also suggested we get a new pediatrician), which would mean blood flow was being cut off to part of her intestines. Mom and I took her to the peds after hours clinic (poor Adam was at work during all this). She was finally seen by Dr. Fortunato who thoroughly examined her and said it was indeed a hernia, it is not strangulated but we need to get her to a peds surgeon ASAP. I told her our peds office was supposed to make the appointment ans she told me if I hadn't head anything by this Tuesday or if they couldn't get us in this week to call her office and she would make sure Sadie is seen Thursday (the only surgery clinic day). So now we just wait. In the meantime if the hernia comes out and we can't work it back in (Dr. Fortunato showed me how to do it) we need to get her to the E.R. ASAP. For now, though, Sadie is calm and being as cute as always. We're just trying to take it easy so she can't rest and not get too worked up (it makes the hernia pop out more). Sadie and I got a visit from our friends Sara and Renee (my Legacy beauties) this evening and Mama and Papa are coming up for a visit tomorrow, so they can see Sadie before they leave for Europe for 3 weeks! Anyhow I'll keep everyone posted. I have to say though, I am really grateful that this will be an easy thing to fix and she's good and healthy otherwise. We are truly blessed. loves to all ya'll

Sadie did indeed have a rough few days. Now that mommy and daddy know how to help her it should be better until it can be "fixed". I was very impressed with Dr. Fortunado, she showed so much concern for Sadie and mommy. Daddy was very stressed that he couldn't be there. I'm just glad that it is fixable and that it should be done very quickly. Sadie and her mommy and daddy can return to their "normal" routine.

Dear Adam and Sarah,
Thank you for allowing us to take up so much of your Sunday afternoon. We loved being with all three of you, but especially holding Sadie and seeing how much she is growing and how active she is. We could not believe how she could turn her head and follow voices with her eyes. And I know I keep saying this, but she really does have the sweetest smile ever. Please let us know how she is doing. We are so glad you know what the problem is now and that it will be taken care of soon.
Lots of love, mama and papa
