Sadie is 5!!!

Our little girly-poo turned 5 last week! I can't believe it. To celebrate this big event, we had a party for her at Bouncin' Big in Newberry. She had a great time, had lots of people come to celebrate and got some fun presents. It seems like the last 5 years have gone by in a flash, I just can't believe she is 5 and starting kindergarten in a month.

A few days after her birthday, she had her tonsils and adenoids taken out. About a month ago we took her to an ENT doctor to be evaluated for her questionable sleep apnea. She had a sleep study done and has "severe" obstructive sleep apnea. She had an average 67 apnic (not breathing) events per hour!!! The doctor told us that the first thing they do for kids with sleep apnea is remove the tonsils and adenoids, so that's what we did. This past Tuesday (the 9th) she went in for surgery. She stayed 1 night in the hospital and then was released. The last few days have been challenging for us, with her in pain and us trying to encourage her to drink as much as possible. It's terrible when there's nothing you can do to take your child's pain and discomfort away. I know she will begin to feel better over then next week or so and, in the long run, this surgery will better her quality of life.

Since I've been home with her this week and we've been stuck in the house, I have been cleaning and organizing. Putting all of those pregnancy, nesting hormones to work. I took an old shelf and made Sadie a costume closet, I hung pictures and begun to get our master closet (aka the new baby's room) ready. I haven't done any decorating for the new baby but I am reorganizing everything so the baby has room. We have been so lucky to be able to borrow things (like the cradle that is now in the "baby's room") and have been given hand-me downs. Hard to believe in about 2 months we will have another beautiful daughter. Life really is good.

Love the new born and the now little girl Sadie pictures. Sarah, you are so creative with making the costume closet and all the other things you have done in your home. Our new baby girl is going to make your home even more full of love and laughter. We can't wait to hold "her" in our arms and to welcome her into God's beautiful world. Tell Sadie we are looking forward to her visiting us and sharing all her birthday stories with us. Love to all, mama and papa

I love what you've done in Sadie's room and the babies room. I can't believe it won't be long until our new little Shugan girl is here!!

Love you all,
